Restoration

We are proud to participate in the field of historic preservation and building restoration, working in the process of accurately revealing, recovering or representing the state of a historic building, as it appeared at a particular period in its history, while protecting its heritage.

Repointing

Repointing is the process of renewing the pointing, which is the external part of mortar joints, in masonry construction. Over time, weathering and decay cause voids in the joints between masonry units, usually in bricks, allowing the undesirable entrance of water.

Water entering through these voids can cause significant damage through frost weathering and from salt dissolution and deposition.

We can undertake partial or total repointing in many different joint finishes such as Tooled, weather struck, tuck pointed, recessed, flush pointed to name a few.
